Their latest work has certainly been the most demanding so far. But the duo, from Place Dis world, is now aiming even higher
“Bouncing Heart”, now on Juicy Music, is the result of the evolution of a project, which over time has turned into today’s song. Restless nights and endless days in the studio with various singers and songwriters, working together in an international environment based in cities such as Brescia, Milan, and London, that is how Baltica, from Place Dis world, managed to gift us with one of their best accomplishments so far. However, their determination doesn’t stop here. “Yes, it has been the longest and most demanding task so far, nevertheless we are extremely thankful that a globally recognized figure, such as Robbie Rivera, has taken interest in our work and chose to release “Bouncing Heart” with his record Label. A milestone that makes us very proud. We have already finished the follow-up and we are already working on brand new projects, which we will all see coming out pretty soon”.
How do you manage your artistic flow when you are in the studio?
“It is difficult to manage the flow when most of time we are not together, since one of us lives in Brescia (Italy) and the other in London. Whenever we are in the same city, we work hard to make the most out of the time we have, trying to conclude any plan we have previously worked on in a remote distant. If we must be completely honest, we believe that the spark of a genius can happen at any moment, at any time. There are days we stay on a project for quite some time with no significant results, while in others fortunate hours, ideas and energy flow and travel incredibly far, giving life to enormous amount of possibilities. The secret, in our opinion, is never give up. Whenever we are in the studio, we like to surround ourselves with different musicians and singers, to guarantee a wider spectrum of opinions, tastes, and emotions. Keeping a positive vibe is crucial in the music industry and it also gives a safe zone to experiment and create. These are our trademarks and we believe they are a quite big accomplishment for Baltica”.
Why did you choose the path of house music?
“We follow many other genres and artists not necessarily related with our own. For us, House Music isn’t a style like many others, House Music has a vibrant soul, which lives and manifests itself through the dance floor. It is well known that House has a vast mix of genres and subcategories and we like to explore them all, without limitation. During the creative process it is not productive for us to interrupt the flow and analyze if the genre we are dealing with is part of what we should do. Monotony and standard division among categories are two huge no-no for us. In our opinion, that way of thinking limits the artist, we also firmly believe that no one worries about the genres while they are dancing”.
What scenario emerged in the music business following the Coronavirus? How did you organize yourself?
“It is certainly not a pleasant scenario for anyone. The biggest music festivals and events have been either canceled or postponed. Events like Ultra Miami or EDC Las Vegas that bring hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, not to mention the great contribution they make to the economy. In the past few weeks, we have shifted all of our operations onto very helpful web-based platforms, completely changing our regular face-to-face activities into smart-working. Technology does make a great difference in moments like these. We hope our music helps light up your day, even for a few minutes, and brings to all a shared twinkle of joy”.
So, in conclusion?
“We want to thank all the people who have been supporting us and those who will in the future. Many thanks go to Cristian Piccinelli and the folks from Big Biz studio for their help and advice during this last project.
We hope you like it because this is just the beginning!”.
